what do you mean

Ego Actus presented what do you mean by Bruce A! Kraemer, directed by Joan Kane.

The show opened June 15, 2013 at the Gene Frankel Theater in the Planet Connections Theatre Festivity.

description

Everyone who has seen a play thinks they can write one, but can they? A wannabe playwright has had his play accepted by a play festival, but he has not written it yet! He types frantically as the real theatre people, the producer, director, designer, actor and intern, teach him how it’s done. A hysterical look at how plays are created for festivals. This is a very physical comedy with iconic characters that anyone can relate to. The script is now available at the New Play Exchange.

reviews

“what do you mean is an affectionate and very funny spoof of the trials and tribulations of making indie theater in a festival context…a fun celebration of indie theater and its foibles…Director Joan Kane keeps the pace quick and the tone light as what do you mean zips through trope after trope of festival production lore. She’s assembled a fine cast.” Martin Denton, nytheatre.com, June 16th, 2013

“The action is light and bouncy, funny in spots and always with its heart in a good place.” Robert Liebowitz, August 31st, 2013 in OuterStage.com
