Identity Paper

Ego Actus presented an Equity Showcase Code production of Identity Paper adapted by Bruce A! Kraemer from a short story by his grandmother, Bessie Tigay, directed by Joan Kane.

The show opened November 1, 2016 at Theatre Row in the United Solo Festival.

Description

Identity Paper is humorous view of a new immigrant who finds things very different from the horrible experiences in his home country. Can he adjust and fit in? His psychiatrist says “America does not adapt itself to the immigrant. The immigrant must adapt himself to America.” Based on The Phantom Passport, a short story published by the playwright’s immigrant grandmother.
